INTRODUCTION

The ACI, with its main office in Paris, is the international association of wholesale financial market professionals that awards the ACI Dealing Certificate. The association has some 13,000 international members from more than 60 countries. The Dealing Certificate exam tests the student's knowledge of treasury practice. The ACI itself is responsible for the exam requirements, but does not offer courses. The ACI Dealing Certificate Training is an intensive course offering participants the basis skills and knowledge to work as a dealer on the money markets, the currency markets and the related derivatives markets. The training is aimed at giving participants the knowledge and skills of the most at the level of the ACI Dealing Certificate. The training is aimed at both junior employees in the dealing room of financial institutions and those working in corporate treasury of large multinationals. The training may also be interesting for professionals who need a working knowledge of treasury practices, even when they do not work in the treasury department itself.

CONTENTS

The training is aimed at enabling the participants to fulfill the requirements of the ACI Dealing certificate with the understanding that some components are added which are relevant for the treasury practice of non-financial companies. The main topics are:

Functioning of the money market, including the most important financial money market instruments.

Interest derivatives, including repos, forward rate agreements, futures, swaps and interest options.

Functioning of the currency market, including the most important currency market products and forex derivatives, including forwards and swaps.

Position management and settlements in the dealing room.

Risk management and the management of derivatives positions.

Control aspects.

Code of conduct.

The training is given in cooperation with Febelfin Academy in Brussels and the Belgian Association of Financial Analysts.

CLINIC STRUCTURE AND PROGRAM

The training is given in two sessions of two days each, including an evening program on the first and third days. During the training, a great deal of attention is given to practice cases and examination exercises, where the participants themselves must make the necessary calculations. Participants will also need to reserve time between sessions for self-study.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

With the exception of some analytical insight and skills in working with spreadsheets (Excel or Lotus), no particular prerequisite knowledge is required. However, knowledge of financial markets or experience in the treasury sector will considerably facilitate the training.

EXAMINATION

The training is concluded with the official examination for the ACI dealing certificate. After completing the course, this examination can be taken by individual appointment in many examination institutions all over the world. The exam format is multiple-choice.

LECTURERS

The tutors are professionals who combine a great deal of real experience in the financial world with a experience in ACI teaching. They guarantee sessions that are both intensive and pleasant.

The total course fee, including documentation, luncheons, refreshments, etc. during the course is € 2,500 (excl VAT). For the optional dinners following the course on the first days of both sessions, an additional € 125 is charged for both.
